About

Me

My fascination for the arts began as a little girl. I always knew I wanted to be performer, more specifically a singer, because I had a very strong obsession with music. My mom signed me up for many different types of classes. She signed me up for classes from places such as New Jersey, Peru, and Colorado. I did ballet and tap proceeded to baton twirling, Belly Dancing, Hip-Hop, Mime, Gymnastics, Piano, Guitar, Violin, Painting and more.

As we moved from city to city and house to house one thing remained constant and that was the Arts. I never realized how much I loved the arts until I got to high school. I had to choose an elective and without much thought I signed up for acting classes. As soon as we began to let loose and release during our exercises the connection, I felt with the art form and the artists was deep, intense and awoke every emotion in me. When I perform it is like I am connected to my soul and many times I do not want to leave the game.  At first, acting was a distraction that allowed me to escape from the hardships occurring in my life. However, now it is a craft that allows me to remain happy, hopeful and sane. It is truly a lifeline.

When I was offered a supporting role on my first show I was beyond ecstatic. The nostalgia and euphoria I felt performing on stage was something I wanted to last forever. It ignited my passion and motivated me to improve each day and pursue my craft. It afforded me the opportunity to do all my favorite things: sing, act, and dance. After the show was over, I auditioned and signed with an agent, I did my first commercial and I transferred to a Performing Arts High School to continue learning, improving and evolving surrounded by likeminded amazing artists.

When I transferred to the Performing Arts School, I worked full-time to save money to move to New York. Even though I was born in New York, I knew I had to go back to pursue my lifelong dream. I managed to save $10,000 and after auditioning for a couple of colleges in New York, I decided to attend Atlantic Acting School. I packed all my stuff from the small town in Orlando, said good-bye to my family, and moved to New York at 18 years old. Being by myself in a big city was very intimidating but I had the ambition and passion to make my dream come true. If at 7 years old, I told myself I was going to move to New York to pursue the arts and it became true, then anything I set my mind will come.

I cannot fathom, imagine, or envision myself doing anything else. Expressing myself through my body and voice is ultimately and entirely freeing in countless ways. When I perform all anxiety and stress disappears. The arts have opened my mind up to so many aspects and perspectives of life and has made me feel like I am not alone. When I act the whole world smiles. Artists are a strong, supportive, and a loving community. They do what they love no matter what other people think. We understand that being different is amazing and unique and embrace those differences. Artists know that no matter how sad or how much of an outcast you feel, the arts will be there to lift you up and let you fly.  I thank my mother for starting me on this wonderous journey of who I am and who I will become in my pursuit of happiness.
